DPF Off Software
Automatic Particulate Filter Delete

Disable the diesel particulate filter in seconds directly from your PC. Automatic solution for professional workshops, no file service, no waiting.

What is DPF Off software?

DPF Off software (also known as FAP Off in French markets) is a professional ECU calibration tool that logically disables the diesel particulate filter in the engine control unit. Unlike pure physical removal, it modifies the engine management maps so the ECU no longer expects feedback from the DPF sensor, no longer triggers regeneration cycles, and no longer records related fault codes.

This operation only concerns the software side of the ECU. The physical removal of the filter must be performed separately by a qualified mechanic.

What MapX-R Flash modifies automatically in the ECU

  • Disables active and passive regeneration cycles
  • Removes DPF differential pressure monitoring
  • Disables upstream and downstream temperature sensors
  • Neutralizes fault codes P2002, P2453, P244A, P244B, P2459
  • Removes dashboard warning and limp mode
  • Adjusts injection maps to maintain compatibility

Automatic software vs online file service

Two approaches exist for software DPF removal. Here's why a desktop software like MapX-R Flash makes sense for high-volume workshops:

Online file service

  • Wait time of 30 minutes to 2 hours per file
  • Per-unit payment (credit-based)
  • Internet and human operator dependency
  • Unpredictable cost depending on volume
  • No control over final quality

MapX-R Flash (desktop software)

  • File modified in seconds
  • Fixed monthly or annual fee
  • Automatic processing on your PC
  • Predictable, all-inclusive cost
  • Calibrations validated by experts

Compatible ECUs for DPF delete by FAP management generation

Logical DPF removal depends directly on the regeneration strategy and the differential pressure sensor (ΔP) reading specific to each ECU generation. MapX-R Flash automatically adapts the patch based on the detected architecture. Rather than a generic list, here are the ECUs classified by FAP management generation — this classification determines the correct approach.

Generation 1 — Eolys cerine-additive FAP (2003-2010)

On the first PSA HDi and some Ford engines fitted with additive FAP, regeneration is triggered by cerine injection from an auxiliary tank. Ash counter and additive level are managed in addition to the standard ΔP sensor. Deactivation requires simultaneous neutralization of the additive counter (codes P1431, P1448) and the differential pressure thresholds.

Bosch EDC15C2 / EDC15C7Early HDi 1.4 / 1.6 / 2.0 with Eolys FAP
Bosch EDC16C3 / C34HDi 2005-2008, cerine counter
Bosch EDC16C39 / CP39HDi 1.6 / 2.0 2008-2010 (very common)
Siemens SID801 / SID803PSA HDi 1.6 2005-2009
Visteon DCU-102Ford TDCi 1.6 / 2.0 with Eolys FAP

Generation 2 — Active FAP without additive, post-injection regeneration (2010-2015)

Cerine disappears. Regeneration becomes purely thermal via a late post-injection (5th injection) raising exhaust temperature to 600-650°C. Dual upstream/downstream ΔP sensors, downstream catalyst temperature sensor. Logical removal inhibits post-injection 5, neutralizes P2002 (FAP efficiency) and P244A/B (abnormal ΔP) and disables the modeled soot counter.

Bosch EDC17C10 / EDC17C60PSA HDi 1.6 / 2.0 (most widespread ECU)
Bosch EDC17C46 / C54 / C64VAG TDI EA189 / EA288 Euro 5
Bosch EDC17CP14 / CP20 / CP44VAG high-pressure TDI, BMW N47
Bosch EDC17C41 / C50 / C70BMW N47, Mercedes OM651, Volvo D5
Delphi DCM3.5 / DCM6.2Renault 1.5 / 1.6 / 2.0 dCi, Nissan
Continental SID807 / SID208Ford TDCi, PSA, Mercedes Sprinter

Generation 3 — DPF + SCR (AdBlue) coupled, Euro 6 (2015-2018)

The DPF is kept but combined with the SCR system. Regeneration must avoid excessive NOx elevation, and the SCR controller communicates with the engine ECU over CAN. DPF removal on these ECUs requires preserving SCR coexistence: to keep AdBlue working, MapX-R Flash only removes DPF routines and preserves NOx tables. Typical codes: P2463 (soot accumulation), P247F (incomplete regeneration).

Bosch EDC17C84VAG TDI EA288 Euro 6 (with or without SCR)
Bosch MD1CS001 / CS003PSA BlueHDi Euro 6
Bosch MD1CP002BMW B47 / B57 Euro 6
Bosch MG1CS003VAG petrol (rare in diesel)
Delphi DCM6.2V / DCM7.1Renault Energy dCi Euro 6, dual SCR

Generation 4 — DPF + LP-EGR + SCR, Euro 6d / 6d-TEMP (2018+)

The most complex architecture: regeneration orchestrated between DPF, low-pressure EGR valve (downstream of DPF) and upstream SCR. Continuous OBD monitoring via downstream particulate sensor (DPS). On these generations, writing may require prior TPROT unlocking — MapX-R Flash handles this natively on supported families. Removal specifically targets the regeneration strategy without affecting SCR/LP-EGR control.

Bosch MD1CS006 / CS016Recent Euro 6d BlueHDi (PSA, Opel)
Bosch MD1CP004 / CP006BMW B47TÜ / B57TÜ Euro 6d
Bosch EDC17C79 / CP74Mercedes OM654 / OM656
Continental SID310 / SID320Ford EcoBlue, Mercedes Sprinter

Frequently asked questions about DPF Off software

Is DPF Off legal?

DPF removal is only legal for off-road use: racing, track, off-road vehicles. It is up to the professional and end customer to verify the legality in their country. MapX-R Flash provides the technical tool only, without encouraging road use.

Does DPF Off also clear fault codes?

Yes, MapX-R Flash automatically disables DPF-related fault codes: P2002, P2453, P244A, P244B, P2459, plus manufacturer-specific codes (PSA, VAG, BMW, Mercedes, Ford). No more dashboard warnings.

What's the difference between DPF Off and FAP Off?

None. FAP (Filtre À Particules) is the French term, DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) is the English term. Both refer to the exact same component and operation.

Do I also need to physically remove the DPF?

Yes. Software DPF Off only disables the electronic management. The physical removal of the filter must be performed separately by a qualified mechanic to avoid clogging.

How long does DPF Off processing take?

Processing is instant. Load the original file, select DPF Off, download the modified file in seconds. No waiting, no file service, no dependency on a human operator.

Which reading tools are compatible?

MapX-R Flash works with files from all master tools on the market: Autotuner, KESS, KTag, CMD, bFlash, Magic Motorsport, MPPS, Trasdata.
